This is a four layered laminated curved paddle. Made from Tiger maple and Walnut, 2 outer edges are Tiger Maple, inner core is Walnut. Paddles approximate length 53cm handle length 12.3cm width 5cm thickness 1.5cm weighs approximately 235g. Hand carved shaped handle inner core Walnut with Tiger Maple and Cherry handle slips.
This is a beautiful silky-smooth paddle, beautiful holographic natural effect on this wood. Great for rubbing over the skin for a sensory play feel as well as a great impact toy. The outer curve of the paddle gives you a nice thuddy warm feeling while the inner curve gives a slapping/sting feeling and is designed to cup each cheek.
This paddle has been treated with at least 3 layers of Danish oil, 1st coat is very heavy. This is to seal the timber and create a barrier its then left to thoroughly dry, while another 2/3 light coats are applied. Before the last coat I rub over with 0000 grade wire wool and apply a very thin coat and it’s left to dry naturally.
